- Like the DEORE XT, the new SLX M7100 also features Shimano innovations such as the innovative 12v cassette with MICRO SPLINE system with 10-45 or 10-51 developments, connecting rods 1x12 or 2x12, a 12v chain specific to the SLX, 2 or 4 piston disc brakes, fully adjustable ISPEC-EV controls, bushings, derailleur and rear derailleur optimized for 12v, bringing premium technologies closer to those who discover authentic cycling of Mountain.

- Cassette: 12v cassettes. The SLX incorporates the MICRO SPLINE core anchor technology, and are available in 10-45T finishes for smaller pinion jumps, and 10-51D in development for a greater transmission range. Both cassettes incorporate HYPERGLIDE + technology, which allows fast and very quiet changes. The cassettes feature an aluminum spider to hold the eleven steel crowns, as well as the largest aluminum crown, to achieve the optimal result in terms of durability, weight and driving style. The CS-M7100-12 10-51T cassette weighs 534 gr and the 10-45T option weighs 513 gr.
